Patient's Home Environment Policy
LQHHCS requires the patient's working/living area to be clean and safe for the patient and for the Caregiver to conduct his/her assigned duties. Primary area such as the patient's bedroom, hallway/stairs, bathroom, living room, and kitchen must be clean and clear of safety hazards. In case of a fire, per safety guidelines, there must be a minimum of two doorways to exit the home. Pathways to these two exit doors must be clear and uncluttered.
The RN will evaluate the patient's home safety condition, during the patient's assessment. The RN will recommend whether improvements to the home must be made for safety standards (ie smoke/carbon monoxide detector, ramps, handrails, shower chair, cleaning or removing debris).
