Patient's Home Environment Policy

  • LQHHCS requires the patient's working/living area to be clean and safe for the patient and for the Caregiver to conduct his/her assigned duties. Primary area such as the patient's bedroom, hallway/stairs, bathroom, living room, and kitchen must be clean and clear of safety hazards. In case of a fire, per safety guidelines, there must be a minimum of two doorways to exit the home. Pathways to these two exit doors must be clear and uncluttered.

  • The RN will evaluate the patient's home safety condition, during the patient's assessment. The RN will recommend whether improvements to the home must be made for safety standards (ie smoke/carbon monoxide detector, ramps, handrails, shower chair, cleaning or removing debris).
